The Great Awakening
More and more people are starting to ‘wake up’ but the awakening impulse can also be hijacked. The moment one embarks on the journey towards awakening, all kinds of resistance and forces emerge to put the seeker back to ‘sleep’.
Esoteric traditions have talked about it and pointed out these traps on the path toward awakening. They are lessons to test the sincerity of the seeker to ‘cross the threshold’.
This resistance is coming from the ego or separate mind and all kinds of suppressed and unconscious shadow aspects, the wounded inner child and traumas we have buried deep under the surface of the ego-personality.
We usually like to cover it up with this false persona we most often mistake for the true Self. There is the temptation to engage in spiritual bypassing to avoid deeper shadow work or to intellectualise the process without embodying it.
There are other forces triggering our shadow aspects, tempting us to externalise our pain and fall into well versed patterns of complaining and blaming. Anything and anyone becomes the target of our unconscious projections and our victim state takes a firm grip.
Most often we mistake ‘awakening’ for a mental external process of gathering information alone, yet true awakening is a deep internal process.
This process engages multi-dimensional levels because we are multi-dimensional beings, hence the work we are called to engage in during this time of transition must occur on all levels - the Mind (thinking and imagining), the Body (sensing and feeling) and the World (perceiving).
What most people do not understand is that the moment you want to truly awaken and re-connect with your true Self by engaging in inner work, there will be immense unconscious resistance with all kinds of excuses and rationalisations of why you ‘can’t do it right now’ as well as other forces trying to distract you and pull you away from deep inner work to keep you in chains and asleep while you ‘dream to awaken’, staying in the comfort zone of the ‘persona’ slumber.
Integrity, sincerity, determination, decisiveness, will, effort and dedication with unbending trust are the attributes that are necessary to engage in inner work enabling you to navigate during these times of great change.
I would also be beneficial to connect with others to do inner work together. There is only so much self-work we can do by ourselves, we all have our subjective blind spots, tunnel vision and mechanical patterns we are not aware of.
It is not enough to just be around like-minded people but people who are also engaged in the same process. i invite you to join our:
