A new year is upon us - and you may ask what it will look like. I can tell you now that it can only bring what has been caused so far.
For the world it will bring what has been caused on a collective level.
For you the new year will bring what you have caused, through your being, because you are the cause or the creator of your reality, and you have the power to change anything, at anytime.
So when you’re not sure what the new year will bring you, and you want a different life, then set the cause now for a different life - because your being today is going to be your reality tomorrow.
If you want that the world is smiling, your must smile first. Your experienced reality is the exact mirror of your being.
But if you live your life like the majority then you will experience life like the majority.
If you recognise the nature of your true being, which is unlimited, ever-present awareness, crystallising as temporary expression of pure potential, you will experience life as an expression of awakened awareness.
Problems, lack and suffering will turn into faint memories of a time when you used to live as an illusory self. And this alone will determine what the new year will bring.
All this is part of a drastically changing world. In 2020 the world will change so radically so that we won’t be able to recognise it.
Never in human history has there been so many radical changes, in almost all areas of life, and all of us will be affected. Those who are not prepared will be affected the most.
We all need to learn to awaken to our true nature, in order to be the cause for a happy, healthy and prosperous life.
We need to learn to ask meaningful questions instead of merely following corrupt ideas and ideals.
We need to discover and activate our individual purpose, elevate our relationships and liberate our prosperity.
We need to awaken to our true reality, because it will determine the nature of our experiences.
We need to learn that we are unlimited, ever-present awareness, expressing itself as a very individual field of vibration, individual means undivided.
We can learn to optimise our vibrational field, through conscious being and conscious living, through empathy, kindness and mindfulness.
In the new year, where will be the focus of your attention, on your outer world or your inner world?
We can’t afford anymore to exclusively focus our attention on the outer world, others and circumstances.
Remember, our present state of being is shaping our experiences tomorrow.
We can’t afford anymore to identify with our limited ego selves, only a limited ego self can suffer. Awakened awareness cannot suffer.
Learn to trust your immediate experiences, your instincts and your intuition and learn to use your thinking mind as valuable tool.
Withdraw your trust in your ego self, which never truly existed in the first place.
You will find that suddenly everything becomes easy and you will live life as it is intended.
This all will happen in the new year, everything will change, also your relationships. The law of cause and effect will become more obvious in the way you relate to your loved ones.
Recognise that you can only love another as you can love yourself.
As awakened awareness you will experience awakened relationships. The other may make you feel in love, but you must love first. Learn to address awakened awareness in the other, so that awakened awareness can respond. This way communication becomes easy.
In love’s presence all problems disappear.
Suffering, the feeling of lack and separation are the expression of a sick mind, and a sick mind can be healed.
Learn to connect to the presence of awareness and be guided to right acting and relating. In the new year, make it a priority to BE, more and more, the presence of awareness.
Do you want to make your illusory ego self happy, or connect to the happiness that is your true self? Only one is really possible.
You ARE the living CAUSE of your true BEING!
Recognising this will present you with an extraordinary life. Do anything and everything so completely aware and be the cause for a completely NEW BEING in the new year, and it can begin NOW, this very moment.
In the new year, be a shining example for awakened awareness and show others how to live a mindful, happy and healthy life. This will change the world.
Then there is one more thing to do, to assist others to awake to awareness, when they are ready.

A LITTLE EXERCISE
We often hear about a move from head to heart, and it can be difficult to comprehend what this is really experientially referring to.
This shift is often spoken about in relation to freedom, in relation to knowing oneself more fully, more truly, so it's quite an important aspect of self inquiry.
Here is an exercise to demonstrate what the shift is referring to quickly and simply, so let's give it a go.
For the sake of the exercise you'll need to drop into one of your feeling experiences - let's play with this one for demonstration purposes ...
"I'm really quite upset" (replace it with one that is more applicable to you).
Pick whichever experience comes most easily in this moment and really embody it, repeat it a few times, loud and clear in your mind and really feel it.
“I'm really quite upset!”
Close your eyes and really feel what this experience feels like, it shouldn't be hard, it's part of your experience after all.
Next, instead of directing your attention ‘outwards’ towards the story of what happened or the actual feeling sensation, direct your attention ‘inwards’ towards the one who is experiencing the feeling of being upset.
THEN EXPLORE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS
Until you find out - just stay with feeling upset!
Finally focus on the one question ... where or who is the one who is upset ... instead of giving your attention to the story or the feeling/sensation!
Then clearly see the non-existence of the ‘self’ that is feeling upset!
Now, here's the moment of shift, don't think about the answers to the questions, maybe you just drop into Being!
I hope you found a moment of resting in Being. A drop from the head to the heart.

Retirement is a topic that can make people sleep badly.
Some people save a lot of additional money. But now, in the present, they have less to live for. Which is somehow a pity. If so, then ...
Others have decided to live now and they trust that later everything will somehow be all right. Which can be dangerous. What now …
And then there are those who have a lot now and have saved up enough for later. Hallelujah. They will probably not sleep badly. All good?
What many people forget is providing for old age is more than only saving money!
Of course, financial security is important and with money everything is easier than without money.

How do you see your future?
Maybe you often think of something like that: When I am old, then ...
- I finally have the opportunity to travel more and see something of the world.
I finally have time to read all the books I ever wanted to read and sit in the garden in peace.
- I will not be such an old fart, I will continue to meet with my friends and can just do great things all day long.
- I will take care of my grandchildren and I can finally be there for my family.
Every one of us has such dreams and ideas about the future.
But to be honest, how sure can you be that what you want will come true?
Maybe then you will simply be too sick to travel. And being away for a long time is not possible because you still have a house that binds you.
And who is actually coming with you?
Maybe you will soon get bored with your books. After all, they haven't been interesting and important enough to get a piece of your time in the last 30 years.
Do you surely have a few good friends and acquaintances later who like to share their time with you? Maybe they have other obligations as well. Or they die. Or move away.
And what about your family? What if the grandchildren just don't like their old grandpa? And anyway, your children and grandchildren also have their own lives and not necessarily enough time to get to grips with you.
Phew, if I read it that way, I could get directly scared of the future ...
But that's not what I wanted to tell you with this post.

Saving money for your retirement means investing money in the future today. Don't get me wrong: Financial provision is of course important and right.
But it is just as important to provide for your health, your relationships, your goals, your purpose and your ideas of what a beautiful old age may look like for you.
You can already do something about that today. And thus make it more likely that you will have a happy old age.
Also invest in your dreams, ideas and purpose
Take care of things as they come. But you should also make sure that things come as you want them to.
So let's start with the slightly different retirement plan.
The last 20 years:
On average, we live around 20 years in retirement, which seems a long time. What you can do.
Of course - and also unfortunately - we cannot completely influence how this time will go and what exactly awaits us.
But let us not only pay attention to financial security. There is so much more to life than that. Relationships. Spirituality. Love. Health. Purpose.
That's why it is important to expand your retirement plan!
That's why you should expand your pension portfolio to include a few more things that are important to you as you grow older.
Because: "The best way to predict the future is to shape it yourself".
Step 1: Become clear about your dreams and ideas
Think about what you want to truly enjoy in your older years.
Step 2: Identify the obstacles
And now search quite purposefully for what could stand in the way of your happiness. Why could perhaps not work out what you wish for? What are the risks? What could prevent your ideas from coming true?
Step 3: Make your investment plan
If you have thought about what your goal is (step 1) and what could prevent you from achieving it (step 2), then the third step follows: your plan.
For this you ask yourself what you can do for your more inclusive retirement so that it becomes as unlikely as possible that your obstacles from step 2 appear.
Of course you can do that all on your own, at least you should do that.
But most likely we don’t know how to do that and what our talents really are. Often we think we know who we are or what we can do best but in our coaching and mentoring we found out, that the truth is a most a surprise.
